Christian Worship

"I rejoiced when they said to me, let us go unto the house of the Lord." Psalm 122

The 14th century word "worship" inadequately translates the rich Catholic distinction between the adoration due to God alone, and the reverence due to the Saints or holy things. This is where non-Catholics often confuse our theology. See the Catholic Encyclopedia for in an in depth presentation. Christian Worship at Epiphany parish relies on the generous involvement of many talented parishioners and their children.

Adoration (Eucharistic)

The Pope John Paul II Adoration Chapel at Epiphany was inaugurated on Easter Morning, April 16, 2006. Adorers currently come to the rectory chapel (during construction). In our renovated facility, the chapel will be located just inside the church front doors on the right. Adorers are always welcome and needed. There are sign up forms in the chapel. Or you can contact our coordinator Maria Marstall at Adoration Email or by a call to the parish office, (309) 452-2585.

Practices are held on Wednesday evenings at 6 pm and before Sunday Mass. New cantors, choir members and instrumentalists are always welcome from the age of 12 and up. You do not need to have a solo voice to sing, just have the desire sing God's praise! The Adult Choir also sings when music is needed for extra services during the Advent and Lenten seasons.
