Faith House Build
What is the Faith House?
The Faith House is one of three houses that Habitat for Humanity of McLean County will build in 2024. It is being sponsored by several churches in the Bloomington/Normal area and will be located at 19 Trailside Ct. in Bloomington. Registration
All volunteers must register online at the Habitat for Humanity website. Click on the second Saturday of the month you intend to participate. A safety waiver is signed electronically (under the “More” link). This also facilitates cancelations and announcements emailed directly from Habitat for Humanity.
AGE:
For your information, monthly build events will be held on the 2nd Saturday from July to October at the Faith House construction site. These events, held at the Habitat for Humanity construction site, are open to people aged 16+.
ATTIRE:
Wear closed-toed shoes.
Dress for the weather. Shorts may be worn on hotter days; however, knee coverage is suggested.
Long hair must be tied back.
Do not wear loose clothing, such as long necklaces, long shirts, scarves, or anything that could get caught in the equipment.
WHAT TO BRING:
Bring a water bottle/hydrating beverage with you. Limited water is available onsite.
Volunteers are welcome to bring their own hammers, hard hats, safety glasses, or tool belts. However, Habitat has everything you will need available onsite.
WHEN AND WHERE TO ARRIVE:
Please arrive 10 minutes early at 7:50 a.m. The start time is 8:00 a.m., and the end time is noon.
The location is at 19 Trailside Court, Bloomington.
Refreshment Donation
Individually wrapped snacks or bakery items are needed for about 15 people. Please text or call Ed Wagner at 309-838-7782 to volunteer to donate refreshments. Please drop the refreshments off at the building site on the build day by 9:45 a.m. If you cannot deliver the refreshments on the day of the build, please work with Ed to make alternative arrangements.
