Schoenstatt

Schoenstatt Shrine

Schoenstatt is a worldwide movement that began in Germany during WWI to bring people into closer union with God through Mary. Here in Central Illinois, we have a large family branch where we gather with other families to grow together with Mary.

One of the main ways we grow together is to make a family Covenant. Remembering the Old Testament, a covenant is a promise from God that we will strive to live in a particular way. We form a Covenant of Love with the Blessed Mother, and together, we aspire to bear Christ to the world as she did.

The Schoenstatt movement focuses on the formation of holy families, which is the method God designed for the education of saints. It also focuses on inspiring fathers to be living reflections of Fatherly Love in the family. It is so helpful to have a community in these times. We are always looking for more people to join us, and we offer regular meetings, Covenant Classes, prayers, and social events.
